In Arc Raiders, Duct Tape is an uncommon crafting material valued for its role in weapon mods like grips and stocks — and it’s something you’ll need a surprising amount as you progress through Gunsmith benches and mid-tier builds.

Despite its modest rarity, Duct Tape isn’t something you can afford to ignore: it’s used in recipes across early and mid game and can be recycled into useful fabric. Here’s how to farm it efficiently.

Why Duct Tape Matters

Before we talk strategy, let’s break down its importance:

Uncommon but valuable: Duct Tape stacks to 15 and sells for about 300 credits each, making it meaningful if you’re trying to maximize crafting and fund future runs.

Crafting workloads: It’s required for a range of attachments across Gunsmith levels. A single Angled Grip II recipe can require multiple rolls, and combined with other recipes you might consume dozens per session.

Recycling potential: If you’re overloaded or farming for fabric, each roll recycles into three fabric at your hideout, giving you flexibility on resource use.

1. Celeste’s Trader Loop (Guaranteed Supply)

One of the most reliable ways to stock up is not actually farming the world — it’s buying tape directly from the trader Celeste.

This method is powerful because Celeste refreshes her inventory on a predictable timer:

Celeste sells Duct Tape in exchange for Assorted Seeds — usually about 6 seeds per roll, up to about 10 per day.

So here’s a practical formula:

If you can reliably earn 60–80 Assorted Seeds per day, you’re effectively converting them into a stack or more of Duct Tape every day for crafting.

The trader reset roughly every 24 hours, so this can be a steady passive loop.

This also ties into broader resource planning: if you’re grinding seeds to U4N, buy arc raiders cosmetics blueprints or fill other recipes, you can convert excess seed income into crafting mats without extra map time.

2. Best Map Routes for Active Farming

If you prefer to raid for tape instead of buying it, your goal is simple: hit container-dense areas with lots of loot spawns.

Residential and Commercial Zones

Containers in apartments and offices are the bread-and-butter for Duct Tape drops.

Dam Apartments: Multiple residential buildings offer lots of cabinets, desks, and shelves. Players frequently find multiple rolls just by sweeping apartments before extraction.

Office Blocks & Spaceport: Rooms with desks and drawers — even around the Stella map metro or Spaceport office areas — often have tape tucked away near other loot caches.

Standard Loot Containers: Unlike rare Arc Machine-specific drops, Duct Tape shows up fairly often in standard loot pools in Residential and Commercial zones.

On community forums, players have commented that apartments on Dam alone can yield several stacks if you clear every building, though spawns fluctuate with updates.

3. Recycling & Quest Backups

Duct Tape can also be recycled from higher-tier attachments you don’t need or salvageable items at your hideout. This isn’t as direct as farming loot, but it’s a good fallback when tape is tight.

Additionally, quests can reward you small amounts of Duct Tape if you complete them during a run — last-ditch sources that supplement your totals.

Real Numbers from the Field

Here’s how a typical session might look:

Trader buys: 10 tape per day at ~6 seeds each → 60 seeds spent = 10 rolls

Apartment sweep: A thorough apartment loop might net 5–15 rolls, depending on luck and spawn tables

Recycling overflow: If you have excess mods, break them down into fabric, which can be converted later or used in other crafts

A coordinated farming loop that hits apartments and office zones can routinely net 20+ rolls per extraction, especially if you loot thoroughly and don’t skip small containers.

Tips That Actually Work

Prioritize container-dense areas first. Because Duct Tape isn’t tied to rare Arc Machine drops, your best luck comes from door-to-drawer sweeps.

Save space for tape. It only stacks to 15, so once you pass that threshold it’s easy to miss multiples in the same room.

Use Scrappy well. His scavenging boosts help bring back more seeds, which fuels the trader method.

Balance buys vs. runs. If you’re hitting a daily seed limit, focus on buying tape so you don’t waste valuable run time.
