Camara close to signing Pompey deal

According to reports today, Senegalese striker Henri Camara is set to sign a one-year-deal with Portsmouth within the next 24 hours.Camara has been a free agent for most of the summer transfer window, spending a long period under trial at Hull City before being eventually overlooked.The 32-year-old journeyman would provide more striking options for manager Paul Hart, with Camara known for his strong attributes of strength and pace.Some fans may consider Camara as a better replacement for striker David Nugent, who joined rivals Burnley at  Brad Brach Jersey the last minute, on transfer deadline day in a six-month loan deal.Despite his career at Wigan starting off positively, Camara has endured a couple of frustrating seasons at the DW Stadium.He enjoyed spells at West Ham and Stoke City under Steve Bruces previous management, while only managing a couple of appearances for the Latics.Pompey fans may be more familiar with Camara from his days at rivals Southampton.
