A Kyler Murray question looms over the Steelers offseason after Aaron Rodg

Maybe Kyler Murray would've chosen the anyway.  But with Aaron Rodgers now signed on to be the QB for the 2026 NFL season, it's fair to look back and wonder they would've been better off throwing a full-court pre s at Murray.  The cut Murray loose, and the Vikings were the team that landed him to be their new starter.  The Steelers waited out the 42-year old Rodgers for months and are now running it back with a guy who was barely good enough in 2025 and doesn't seem likely to magically improve this season.  "At 42, the chances are far more likely that Rodgers is worse in 2026 than of any sort of  Michael Porter Jr. Jersey dramatic improvement," . "It would be one thing if the Steelers were waiting on peak Rodgers to return, but the entire organization was left on hold as a below-average starter spent months deciding whether he wanted to continue playing. And though Rodgers is obviously familiar with new head coach Mike McCarthy, it's worth remembering that Rodgers' performance improved dramatically in Green Bay after McCarthy left and was replaced by Matt LaFleur."  MORE:  Should the Steelers have gone after Murray? There's certainly a strong case to be made.  It certainly would've been more compelling than them simply waiting and hoping Rodgers would return, and risking in the proce s being left with Will Howard or Mason Rudolph or Drew Allar to start this season if Rodgers retired.  Quarterback is the most important position in sports, but for the past few seasons, the Steelers have treated it like an afterthought.  Most likely, after this season they'll again be seeking a starting QB for the following campaign.
