The have a lot to do in free agency, and Aaron Glenn's head coaching job might depend on it.  They've already been active in the trade market, and there are still plenty of rumors and signings to come to try and improve a team that has plenty of needs.  The Jets made a move Monday before free agency even opened to try and addre s one of those spots, acquiring safety Minkah Fitzpatrick from the .  That's just a start. The Jets have more than $73 million in available cap space, according to .  MORE:  The looming need, of course, is at quarterback. Just last offseason, the Jets signed Justin Fields, and that didn't work out. He technically enters free agent week still under contract, but there's an expectation the Jets will look to do something different.  They won't need a new RB, because they gave Breece Hall the franchise tag. But they definitely need help at wide receiver for whoever the new quarterback will be.  That's to say nothing of needs along the line and on defense. There's a lot of work for the Jets to do.  We'll be keeping track of all the happenings right here.  MORE:  Jets free agency rumors, news, live updates  Refresh for the latest. Times all ET.  SATURDAY  10 a.m.:  This tracker is being signed off on. We'll still have ample free agency news on each team page here at Sporting News. Thanks for following along this week.  7:45 a.m.:  At this point, free agent signings will slow to a trickle. Nothing is stopping teams from making more moves, but any players who haven't signed up until this point surely have some kind of reason for the slowing down of their negotiating proce s.  FRIDAY  6:25 p.m.:  The Jets sign Andre Cisco, a talented safety who played his college football at Syracuse, to a one-year contract for $5.25 million, .  8:35 a.m.:  The Jets likely will look to add another QB to pair with Geno Smith, although there's always a chance they wait until the draft to do so.  6:45 a.m.:  As Friday of the first week of free agency gets underway, it's worth noting that there is now no more closing of free agency. From now until the end of the 2026 season, free agents can be sign. Things won't move at the same rate of this week, but there will always be available players to be added as the seasons change and the new campaign approaches.  THURSDAY  10:30 p.m.:  One piece from earlier: The Jets lose safety Tony Adams to a signing with the , .  10 p.m.:  On the bright side of a quiet day, QB Geno Smith pointed out earlier in the day that Garrett Wilson is a top-10 WR in the NFL.  4 p.m.:  The Jets could still be in on a free agent WR. It seems like they need one. Notable names available include Stefon Diggs, Jauan Jennings, Deebo Samuel and Hollywood Brown.  2:20 p.m.:  Of note after the Jets likely had interest in Malik Willis, the QB who signed with the Dolphins: He credited the fact that Miami's new coach and GM came from the as a key factor. Tough for the Jets to match that.  12:50 p.m.:  that the average age of the Jets' signings so far is 31.5 years old.  11:50 a.m.:  One quarterback who appears to be available if the Jets want to consider another move is .  8:35 a.m.:  Any team looking for a  Joey Votto Jersey veteran defensive lineman with lots of history of succe s has at least two options left in free agency: Joey Bosa and Cameron Jordan.  8 a.m.:  A new potential backup QB option hit the market: The released Cooper Rush on Thursday. He was 9-5 as a fill-in starter with the before going 0-2 as a starter with the Ravens in 2025.  6:45 a.m.:  lists updated salary cap space for every team in the NFL -- although it's a moving target and hasn't nece sarily accounted for every free agent signing or release yet. But for what it's worth, the Jets have $37 million in space as the site stands at the start of Thursday.  WEDNESDAY  11:45 p.m.:  As things wind down on the first day of free agency officially being open, there are still a lot of big-name free agents out there. The likes of Kyler Murray, Jauan Jennings, Stefon Diggs, Joel Bitonio, Joey Bosa, Jaquan Brisker, Dallas Goedert and more are still out there.  10:30 p.m.:  There's a wild sentiment going around on social media that might be painfully true -- Geno Smith might be the Jets' best QB since Geno Smith.  4:30 p.m.:  Former Jets WR John Metchie is signing a one-year contract with the , .  3:55 p.m.:  The Jets have signed an offensive lineman from the , Dylan Parham, for two years and $20 million, .  2 p.m.:  The Jets have their new kicker: Cade York signs, .  1:45 p.m.:  Max Mitchell, an offensive tackle, has re-signed to return to the Jets, .  1:30 p.m.:  The Jets have lost defensive lineman Michael Clemons to a contract in free agency with the , .  1:20 p.m.:  A good : "Apparently another reminder needed on NFL Free Agency. It doesn't END at 4pm. It STARTS then. There's a large list of players who are currently unsigned that will greatly help good football teams this year."  11:30 a.m.:  The Jets were almost certainly never going to make a contract offer to Daniel Jones as a free agent on a transition tag from the Colts. But now they can't, .  8:40 a.m.:  The Jets still need wide receiver help. Maybe they make a move toward that today.  6:45 a.m.:  It's a big day in the NFL free agent proce s. No deals are actually official yet. At 4 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT) on Wednesday, contracts can become official and players can fully join their new teams. That's when teams will start making lots of announcements on social media. This is also the day many releases can become official acro s the league, which could create the potential for more deals.  TUESDAY  11 p.m.:  One thing worth noting is that the Jets could have more moves coming soon because certain releases don't actually proce s until the league year begins on Wednesday. That'll impact available players and cap room.  5:20 p.m.:  If any team wanted to get weird with a running back addition, . But he's 34, so that would be quite the thing.  3:51 p.m.:  The Jets land a new defensive back, Nashon Wright from the , on a one-year, $5.5 million contract. .  3:47 p.m.:  -- it's depre sing.  3:30 p.m.:  has reported that the Jaguars aren't interested in trading Brian Thomas Jr. If true, that takes a potential Jets target off the board.  2:15 p.m.:  The Jets have found a quarterback. They traded a sixth-round pick to the Raiders for Geno Smith and a seventh-round pick, .  10:45 a.m.:  Something to note as the free agency tampering window continues into a second day: Things will definitely be slower today. Guys that weren't signed immediately usually weren't signed immediately for a reason. Either they really are taking their time intentionally, or they don't have the interest they want. Plenty more deals will come, but they could be stretched out over the next handful of days.  10:15 a.m.:  , something the Jets likely still need to look into.  8:35 a.m.:  There are a lot of reviews going around of the Jets losing Alijah Vera-Tucker, and most are pointing out that he mi sed 41 games in four seasons. Jets' fans may not mi s him, although a departure to division rival New England hurts a bit more.  7:50 a.m.:  Kyler Murray's free agency rumors have been quiet, which could matter to the Jets. .  6:45 a.m.:  A couple key things to note as Tuesday gets underway. Free agency operates much the same way today as it did Monday. It's still the "legal tampering" period. Deals can't be made official until Wednesday. There are still a good chunk of free agents on the board, so more news should emerge throughout the day.  MONDAY  11:30 p.m.:  As the week goes on, the Jets' QB situation will have to continue to take shape. But it's a solid first day for New York.  10:30 p.m.:  A couple other signings to catch up with here. The Jets bring in fullback Andrew Beck, but they lose Quincy Williams to a signing with the Browns -- .  10 p.m.:  One that slid under the radar earlier: The Jets also signed safety Dane Belton, per . He's another safety upgrade along with the trade for Minkah Fitzpatrick.  4:26 p.m.:  After a quick flurry, it's been pretty quiet for the Jets. A decision on QB will be the big thing still to come.  4:07 p.m.:  that the Jaguars are shopping WR Brian Thomas Jr. in a trade, and the Jets may  Blake Dunn Jersey
